(SPRING SESSION ONLY)
Learn French the ideal way while residing for the full session with a local French-speaking family.
Host families are carefully selected and reside in Rivière-du-Loup or within 10 minutes of the city. Bicycles are a great mode of transportation to use during your stay - you can bring yours with you or rent one during your stay.
NOTE: All students will stay at a hotel upon their arrival on Sunday until Monday when they will meet their host family. These two days are set aside for orientation, placement tests, program presentation and special activities. There is no extra charge for these first days.
As of Monday evening, students will be staying with their host family.
(SUMMER SESSION ONLY)
The College Residence offers single and double rooms equipped with a bedroom sink, a desk and a storage space.
Clean bedding is provided once a week. Students need to bring their sheets to the front desk and clean ones will be given to them. Students must, however, bring their own towels and a warm blanket.
There are showers and washrooms on each floor.
A key deposit of $60 CAD must be paid upon the day of arrival and will be refunded on the day of departure if the following conditions have been met:
- the room key has been returned;
- no damage has been done to the property or goods of the College and its subcontractors.
Any damage caused to the room or equipment will be at the student’s expense.
Service offered at the Residence
Three meals a day are served at the cafeteria all week. During the weekends, students are proposed different options depending on activities: cafeteria, brunch, catered meals or packed lunches for excursions.
We have well-equipped kitchens on each floor of the Residence that the students may use. We provide pans, pots and dishes for students who want to cook. There are three big grocery stores and a few fine food boutiques within one kilometre.
In order for L’École de français to provide the best possible food service, students must specify food allergies or special diets on their Personal Information Form when they register.
There is a telephone in each room. Local calls are free. For long distance calls students can call collect or use a cell phone.
To receive a call: we suggest students call their parents to inform them of the best time to call.
Washing machines and dryers are located on the first floor of the Residence. Students are responsible for the washing of their own clothes and towels. The fee for using the washers or dryers is $1 CAD per use.
